Obama’s Top Intel Officials Just Filed An ‘Unprecedented’ Legal Brief In Suit Against Trump

Written by TalesOfTheNorth

New details have come to light revealing that 14 former top intelligence officials filed an amicus brief on December 8 against President Trump and his shady takedown artist mentor Roger Stone.  Among the top officials are intelligence titans John Brennan, President Obama’s CIA director; James Clapper, Obama’s director of national intelligence; and Michael Hayden, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush’s director of the National Security Agency.  Also included among the 14 officials filing the amicus brief is Michael McFaul, Obama’s former ambassador to Russia.

The brief illustrates that Russian President Vladimir Putin used assets within the United States to influence American culture and society to promote the Kremlin’s interests, including interfering with the 2016 presidential election.

Without revealing sensitive intelligence details, the officials wrote that the “cut-outs” or “intelligence assets” can be anyone from “the unwitting accomplice who is manipulated to act in what he believes is his best interest, to the ideological or economic ally who broadly shares Russian interests, to the knowing agent of influence who is recruited or coerced to directly advance Russian operations and objectives . . .,” including journalists, like those at Russian propaganda outlets like RT and Sputnik, and academics, like Professor Misfud, mentioned in guilty Trump foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos’ plea deal, and “prominent pro-Russian businessmen.”

Indicted former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort, former Trump foreign policy adviser Carter Page, First Son-in-Law Jared Kushner, and President Trump himself, are all prominent pro-Russia businessmen, for example.

The Russian “cut-outs” helped spread propaganda, conspiracy theories and cyberattacks to, “undermine confidence in democratic leaders and institutions,” like U.S. intelligence agencies and the Democratic Party, and “discredit candidates for office perceived as hostile to the Kremlin,” such as Hillary Clinton.

Such a brief is “certainly unusual,’ highlighting the three-alarm threat to our democracy that Russian puppet Donald Trump and his administration, along with certain members of Congress, pose.

It could not come at a better time, as congressional Republicans attempt to smear Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller and the F.B.I. in order to discredit their rapidly progressing investigation of collusion between Trump’s inner circle and Russia to swing the election away from Hillary Clinton, whom Putin feared, and sew chaos among the U.S. electorate, in exchange for a Trump administration offering to lift sanctions against Russia.

With the Trump administration helping the Kremlin destroy our democracy, these top intelligence officials are breaking the glass to save the America to which we all aspire.
